It's unimaginable that as i was about to cross my big four o next year, i can still be so obsessed with gaming; specifically mobile games starting from Angry Birds to Candy Crush and now, Homescapes.
Gameplay is relatively similar to Candy Crush; where you move tiles in order to match them up. I actually don't remember when i started playing but it sure is addictive!
I can't imagine that i have reached my level 2,000 milestone! To be honest, i
play the game every single day (except when i was overseas) and it would be hours and hours of play; resulting in me sleeping late and having irregular meals. There're the usual power-ups and combos which may or may not help depending on the goals you have to achieve in order to clear a level. Strategy is required although luck plays an important part too!
Sounds like Candy Crush right? This is when i explained the differences; Homescapes has a story line which makes it even more appealing for people like me who enjoy games like The Sims!
Stars you gain from completing a level would be used to advance the life of this former butler known as Austin who has moved back to live with his parents and is adamant to keep his ancestral home. Hence, loads of renovations and you sure need plenty of stars to know what's going to happen next.
Other characters would appear in the story and they bring with them more challenges and "work". In the above case, Austin's childhood friend came to visit and they collaborated to build something for a woodcraft festival.
As with Candy Crush, you have five lives which would have been sufficient for me to give up and do other stuff (i.e. like blogging which i have been procrastinating about).
But, there are many ways to stay on the game (for example, clearing 9 levels to get a cake that bears gifts of free power ups) with free gameplay that can stretch from a mere 30 minutes to over 6 hours! That's exhausting especially when the free time was given just before bedtime!
